« Interface considerations Managing your documents with IQ LINK »
IQ LINK comes in two flavours; the intranet interface, available to your entire network via their existing web browsers, and the purpose-built IQ LINK touch-screen kiosks which provide access to the same information to users who have no access to computers.
The two interfaces share some common philosophy. They’re both powerful yet highly simplified, giving your staff the information they’re looking for (and just the information they’re looking for) with a minimum of fuss.
There are some differences, though. While the touch-screen kiosk interface is designed to take advantage of the large SXGA screens we install in the kiosks with its use of large, touchable buttons easily readable at arm’s length or for a group of people at once, the intranet interface uses more conventional font sizes and layout metaphors that are more familiar to computer-literate users.
Our kiosk interface takes advantage of anti-aliasing to allow us to use highly-legible print fonts for the entire interface. Since kiosk users likely aren’t familiar with a mouse, we fall back on the most intuitive input method ever invented; touch. That means instead of presenting your floor staff with scrollbars, drop-down menus and checkboxes, we use buttons and smooth animation to provide the same sense of control without requiring the same degree of expertise.
